KONE Escalator Rotary Chain 22 / 24 Joints

A KONE escalator slewing chain is usually identified after the old chain has been removed from the newel or turning section. At that stage, the quickest check is not the overall appearance—it is the number of joints.

This product is available in 22-joint and 24-joint versions for compatible KONE escalator systems. It may also be described as a rotary chain, newel chain, turning chain, or pulley chain assembly.

Each version is formed by a series of linked roller units that follow the curved section of the escalator mechanism. The 22-joint and 24-joint assemblies may appear very similar, but their working length and number of roller pairs are different. They should therefore not be exchanged without checking the removed chain.

Count Before You Order

Lay the old chain on a flat surface and count every complete joint from one end to the other. Then photograph both end connections.

Please provide:

• 22-joint or 24-joint version

• total number of roller pairs

• single-fork or double-fork end structure

• roller outside diameter

• roller width

• bearing marking, if visible

• chain pitch

• total relaxed length

• mounting-pin diameter

• escalator model or nameplate

• photos of both ends and the complete chain

• quantity required

Wear is often visible as noisy bearings, seized rollers, excessive looseness between joints, uneven movement, or damaged connecting plates. When several rollers are worn at the same time, replacing the complete chain assembly may be more practical than changing individual roller units.

Before installation, technicians should also inspect the curved guide track, fixing pins, brackets, adjacent rollers, and chain alignment. Dirt or damage in the turning track can shorten the service life of the replacement chain.
