Description
Mitsubishi Elevator Light Curtain ZMBS-200-R-94C2-R ZMBS-200-T-94C2-T
ZMBS-200-R-94C2-R and ZMBS-200-T-94C2-T are Mitsubishi elevator two-in-one light curtain units commonly used in elevator door safety protection systems.
The transmitter and receiver create an infrared detection field across the entrance area, helping prevent the doors from closing when passengers, carts, or objects are present in the doorway. The ZMBS-200 series is widely used in Mitsubishi elevator door sensor applications and is typically supplied as a matched transmitter-receiver set. The standard light curtain length is approximately 2070 mm.
They are commonly used in:
- passenger elevators
- commercial building elevators
- hospital elevators
- hotel elevator systems
- modernization projects involving Mitsubishi door protection systems
- ZMBS-200-R-94C2-R
- ZMBS-200-T-94C2-T
A Modernization Project Where Compatibility Became the Main Issue
During an elevator modernization project, the maintenance team planned to replace only the damaged receiver unit while keeping the existing transmitter in service.
Although the models appeared similar, the replacement unit came from a different production source.
After installation, the door protection system operated inconsistently and failed several detection tests.
Further inspection revealed that the original installation used a different version of the light curtain assembly. The transmitter and receiver could not be mixed reliably.
After installing a matched ZMBS-200 transmitter-receiver pair, the system returned to stable operation.
This is one reason technicians usually verify the complete model combination before ordering replacement parts. Manufacturers and suppliers often note that some round-head and square-head versions are produced by different suppliers and are not directly interchangeable.
Why Matching Models Matters More Than Appearance
Many elevator technicians focus on:
- overall length
- mounting holes
- connector style
However, light curtain systems depend on proper communication between the transmitter and receiver.
Even when two units appear almost identical, differences in generation, supplier, or signal configuration may affect system performance.
For this reason, experienced maintenance teams normally verify the complete model number rather than ordering based only on appearance.
Parts Often Checked Together
When replacing ZMBS-200 light curtain assemblies, technicians commonly inspect:
- door controller inputs
- light curtain power supply
- signal harnesses
- mounting brackets
- door operator wiring
- safety circuit connections
In many cases, unstable door protection performance may originate from wiring or connection issues rather than the sensor itself.
What Building Owners Usually Notice First
Before a complete light curtain failure occurs, building managers may report:
- doors remaining open longer than normal
- inconsistent passenger detection
- occasional door reopening events
- irregular door response during peak traffic periods
These symptoms often appear gradually and may be mistaken for door operator or controller problems.
Before Ordering
Before purchasing replacement parts, verify:
- transmitter model number
- receiver model number
- head style (round or square)
- light curtain length
- connector configuration
Some ZMBS-200 series units are visually similar but are not directly interchangeable.
